Sweet Spot Solutions and Pronto Networks Provide Wi-Fi Access at Third Presidential Debate

Wi-Fi Hot Zone Lights Up Downtown Tempe’s Historic Mill Avenue Including Gammage Auditorium Where the Debate Will Be Held

Tempe, AZ – October 11, 2004 – Sweet Spot Solutions, a provider of industrial grade broadband wireless solutions, and Pronto Networks, a leading provider of carrier-class OSS solutions for large Wi-Fi hotspot networks, today announced that Tempe residents, students and visitors will be able to gain wireless, high-speed access to the Internet within a Wi-Fi hot zone covering the city’s downtown historic area during the week of the third presidential debate. The Wi-Fi hot zone blankets the entire downtown Tempe corridor, a two-mile stretch along downtown Tempe’s historic Mill Avenue including the Gammage Auditorium on Arizona State University’s campus where the debates will be held on October 13th.

To securely access the Internet anywhere along the two-mile corridor, which includes hotels, restaurants and outdoor public spaces, users simply need to plug in an easy-to-use, Internet KeyTM device into the USB port of any Wi-Fi enabled device. The Internet Key, which is the size of an average house key, is offered by Sweet Spot Solutions. Pronto Networks’ Operations Support System (OSS) for broadband wireless networks handles the back-end authentication and billing support for the device.

“We see this as an opportunity to provide a number of out-of-town visitors an easy way to stay connected during the event,” said Justin Beck, CEO of Sweet Spot Solutions. “Reporters, analysts, and business people will now be able to easily send emails and access corporate information on the fly, rather than having to go back to their hotel rooms. Local residents and business people will also be able to take advantage of this service in popular restaurants and public spaces in the downtown area.”

The Wi-Fi service is being offered to students, businesses and residents that frequent the downtown Tempe corridor, in addition to debate attendees. One-day access is being offered for $49.95. All event access, from October 11-15th, is being offered for $199.95. The number of Internet Keys are limited and available on a first come, first service basis due to the anticipated large number of users during the debate. Internet keys can be reserved on the Sweet Spot website at www.speetspotsolutions.com and picked up from the Sweet Spot booth at Marvos Café located at the brickyard on Mill Avenue.

“We’re pleased that Downtown Tempe is offering this new service, which as far as we know is unique to Arizona,” said Rod Keeling, Executive Director of Downtown Tempe Community, Inc. “It’s a cutting-edge technology that positions our downtown as a secure, Wi-Fi friendly environment, and we think our clients and customers will enjoy that convenience.”
