Pronto Service Controller |
| The Pronto Service Controller (PSC), a component of the UniFi Converged Services Suite, is an intelligent, plug-and-play IP network access controller / router / gateway for any number of external, third party Wi-Fi access points. The PSC directly connects to any 802.11 b access point or router to support up to 100 concurrent connections per PSC. The controller hosts TCP/IP network services as well as WLAN-specific access, security and other application services. The PSC is self-configuring and remotely managed. The provisioning script enables rapid installation, requiring only a broadband connection to the Internet to make it function immediately. The PSC's current configuration can be remotely viewed from the UniFi OSS platform as well. |
 |
For most Wi-Fi or WiMax locations with existing broadband connectivity, the installation process consists merely of connecting the PSC to the broadband connection via an Ethernet cable, and powering up the unit. For these locations, installation costs are drastically reduced, making a Wi-Fi deployment business case much stronger. Bulk provisioning of the controllers improves operational efficiency as well. Bulk updates of controller configurations are also possible. On the fly configuration management makes the provisioning simpler. |
