Mobilepro subsidiary Neoreach wireless selects Pronto Networks for critical back-office services for metro-scale Wi-Fi deployments

Bethesda, MD, and Pleasanton, CA, December 6, 2005 – MobilePro Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: MOBL) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary NeoReach Wireless has selected Pronto Networks to provide broadband wireless managed services for its citywide wireless networks, starting with Tempe, Ariz.

Bruce Sanguinetti, President and CEO of NeoReach Wireless, said, “We chose Pronto because of the company’s leadership in the municipal wireless broadband space and its demonstrated success in numerous citywide deployments. Pronto’s system provides us with the flexibility and richness of features that we need to deliver valuable, long-term solutions for the large-scale, metropolitan Wi-Fi market. We look forward to working with Pronto Networks as we continue to expand our footprint of municipal mesh networks throughout the United States.”

Pronto’s UniFi Managed Services is a hosted service, enabling operators to rapidly deploy large-scale networks by initially outsourcing back-office functions to Pronto’s experienced operations team. The service is based on Pronto’s leading UniFi OSS Platform, providing critical back-office and service control functions such as user registration, secure authentication, subscriber management, flexible billing, customer portal customization and remote network management. Pronto’s UniFi Managed Services allows operators to focus on building their networks upfront and eventually transfer the operations in-house once sustained growth has been achieved.

Jasbir Singh, President and CEO of Pronto Networks, said, “NeoReach has an impressive track record in winning high-profile, municipal broadband deployments. We’re pleased that NeoReach has selected us as a partner and we look forward to rolling out citywide Wi-Fi deployments together in the future.”

NeoReach Wireless currently has three announced municipal deployments underway, including Tempe, Ariz., Chandler, Ariz. and Sacramento, Calif. All deployments are marketed under the brand name WazMetro (Waz stands for “wireless access zones”). The Tempe 40-square mile network, referred to as WazTempe, is being deployed in five stages and is targeted for completion in February 2006. The network infrastructure will consist of approximately 400 antenna and radio units deployed on streetlights and buildings throughout the city, which will channel traffic through Pronto’s UniFi Service Gateway to Pronto’s UniFi OSS Platform operated from a remote data center. Pronto’s UniFi Service Gateway provides user-level bandwidth management and access control. The Chandler and Sacramento deployments are currently in pilot phase and are expected to eventually deliver nearly ubiquitous coverage to both cities.
